Producer
TFT Inc. (Technical and Financial Technology)
TFT Inc. (Grass Valley CA; privately held) manufactures the TFT 911 and TFT EAS One encoder/decoder devices for broadcast radio and television. TFT is one of the original EAS ENDEC manufacturers — producing equipment since before the FCC mandated EAS in 1997 (successor to EBS, the Emergency Broadcast System). TFT's market position is primarily at smaller market broadcast stations and educational/public radio stations. TFT ENDECs are also used in some cable headend environments. TFT is an independent company that has not been acquired by Monroe Electronics, making it the primary standalone competitor in the US broadcast ENDEC market. TFT's Grass Valley CA facility is the design and manufacturing site for all TFT ENDEC products.

TFT's EAS ENDEC products — like all US EAS hardware — must be capable of relaying all EAS alert categories with equal priority from the same device: routine weather alerts, AMBER child abduction alerts, and the Presidential Alert (national emergency/nuclear category). TFT occupies the niche position of being the "third" US EAS ENDEC vendor alongside Monroe's DASDEC and Sage brands — a situation where three small private companies in rural/suburban California and New York control the complete infrastructure of US emergency broadcasting from weather to nuclear. The entire national emergency alert system's hardware manufacturing base is three small private companies with no public shareholders, no significant oversight, and minimal government incentive programs for supply chain resilience.

TFT Inc. (Technical and Financial Technology) is based in Grass Valley, California — a small city in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada known as a hub of broadcast engineering equipment manufacturing (Grass Valley Group, now Belden, was a major broadcast engineering company based there). TFT developed EAS ENDEC hardware from the earliest days of the Emergency Alert System standard, making them one of the three original certified EAS encoder/decoder manufacturers. Unlike DASDEC (Linux-based, IP-network-connected), TFT's hardware has been designed with more conservative, less network-exposed architectures, making them potentially more resistant to the cybersecurity vulnerabilities that have affected competitors.
