Facility
Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health USA Duluth Site (Duluth, Georgia)
Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health USA headquarters and primary North American manufacturing site in Duluth Georgia — formerly the US headquarters of Merial (the Sanofi-Merck animal health joint venture) before Boehringer Ingelheim's $12.5B acquisition of Merial in 2017. Produces Heartgard (ivermectin — parasiticide for dogs but manufactured with GMP applicable to cattle ivermectin products), cattle vaccines, and Metacam (meloxicam NSAID) formulations for the US dairy market. The Duluth campus was built by Merck AgVet (Merck's animal health division) in the 1990s before becoming Merial and then Boehringer Ingelheim — making it a facility with three corporate identities in 25 years.
