Facility
COOXUPÉ Dry Mill Complex (Guaxupé, Minas Gerais)
COOXUPÉ's primary dry mill and export preparation facility in Guaxupé, Sul de Minas, Minas Gerais — the largest cooperative coffee processing complex in the world. Processes 5-6 million 60-kg bags of green Arabica per year for ~11,000 member farmers in the Sul de Minas growing zone. Operations include: mechanical drying (via raised drying beds and mechanical dryers), hulling (removes parchment layer from dry-process coffees), size and density sorting (electronic color-sorters remove defects), and bagging in standard 60-kg jute or GrainPro bags. COOXUPÉ's scale allows investment in electronic optical sorters and quality infrastructure unavailable to individual farms. COOXUPÉ exports directly to major international roasters including Nestlé, JDE Peet's, and German/Japanese specialty roasters. Source: COOXUPÉ Annual Report 2023.
