Cytiva Uppsala Bioprocess Manufacturing (Sweden)
Cytiva's primary Uppsala, Sweden bioprocess manufacturing campus — the world's most strategically critical single-use bioreactor bag production site. Manufactures Flexsafe STR bags (20L-2,000L), ReadyToProcess WAVE bags, chromatography resins (Capto, Sephadex), and filtration membranes. The Uppsala site was the primary global chokepoint for SU bag supply during the COVID-19 vaccine surge (2020-2021). The US government invoked the Defense Production Act in 2020 to require Cytiva to prioritize delivery of SU bags to US vaccine manufacturers (Pfizer, Moderna, J&J), to the disadvantage of European vaccine programs.
