Dumai Port CPO Export Terminal (Riau, Sumatra)

Operated by Wilmar International LimitedID · Riau, Sumatraport

Dumai Port (Riau, East Sumatra coast) is Indonesia's largest crude palm oil (CPO) export terminal — handling approximately 5-7 million tonnes of CPO per year, or approximately 20-25% of Indonesia's total CPO export volume. Dumai sits at the narrowest point of the Malacca Strait — the world's busiest oil shipping lane — allowing tankers of up to 100,000 DWT to load CPO for direct shipment to China, India, and Europe. Multiple Wilmar and Golden Agri-Resources refinery and bulking facilities are co-located at Dumai Industrial Zone. A disruption to Dumai port (storm, fire, structural failure, dock strike) would create an immediate bottleneck for Indonesian CPO exports. The Malacca Strait is itself a geopolitical chokepoint: approximately 90,000 vessel transits per year including almost all Indonesian palm oil exports to Asia.
