Emery Oleochemicals Kluang Complex (Johor)
Emery Oleochemicals' flagship production facility at Kluang, Johor Malaysia — one of the largest dedicated oleochemical complexes in Malaysia. Kluang processes palm kernel oil and palm stearin through high-pressure continuous fat splitting (Colgate-Emery process) and fractional distillation to produce the full C12-C18 natural fatty acid range including lauric (C12) and myristic (C14) acids. The Kluang facility also produces fatty alcohols, glycerol (co-product of hydrolysis), and specialty oleochemical derivatives. Emery's PETRONAS Chemicals co-ownership gives the Kluang facility preferential access to Malaysian infrastructure and logistics networks. The Kluang location (inland Johor) is approximately 100 km north of the Pasir Gudang port zone — slightly less advantaged logistically than coastal Pasir Gudang plants.
