Critical US propane and NGL export terminal on the Delaware River near Philadelphia. Receives NGLs via Mariner East pipeline system from Marcellus/Utica Appalachian shale plays. Handles ~20% of US propane exports. Marcus Hook can load VLGCs (Very Large Gas Carriers) for export to Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Before shale gas revolution, Marcus Hook was a Sunoco oil refinery — now repurposed as the primary east coast NGL export terminal.
