Freeport LNG terminal on Quintana Island, Brazoria County, Texas; 3 liquefaction trains, ~15 mtpa capacity. Explosion and fire June 8, 2022 — shut down for 8 months (full reopening February 2023). During outage removed ~2.2 Bcf/day from US LNG export capacity at peak European gas crisis. FERC investigation cited LNG liquid overfill as root cause.
