Port of Santos — Coffee Export Terminal (São Paulo, Brazil)

Port of Santos (Baixada Santista, São Paulo state; Brazil's largest port by cargo volume; ~130M tonnes cargo/year) handles the majority of Brazilian green coffee exports — approximately 80% of all Brazilian coffee leaves through Santos. Santos has dedicated coffee warehousing infrastructure including climate-controlled warehouses certified for green bean storage. Brazilian coffee exports: ~36 million 60-kg bags/year (FY2023 record); Santos terminal capacity allows export of ~80,000-100,000 tonnes/month of green coffee. Santos is also a major soybean, corn, sugar, and orange juice export hub — green coffee competes for Santos cargo capacity with other Brazilian agricultural commodities. Major trading firms (ECOM, Olam, LDC) maintain or charter warehouse facilities in the Santos vicinity. Source: USDA FAS Brazil Coffee Annual 2024.
