Upstream monomer and polymer production for Twaron at Delfzijl, Groningen Province. Feeds the Emmen spinning plant. Critical upstream chokepoint — Delfzijl supplies the para-phenylene diamine (PPD) and terephthaloyl chloride (TCl) monomer feedstocks that are polymerized into poly-paraphenylene terephthalamide (PPTA) resin, which is then dry-jet wet spun into Twaron filaments at Emmen.
