Facility
Westlake Chemical Lake Charles PVC Complex
Westlake Chemical's Lake Charles, Louisiana integrated PVC resin complex — the largest PVC resin production site in the US. Multiple PVC resin trains; co-located with chlor-alkali (chlorine/caustic soda) and VCM production. Capacity approximately 2.5-3 billion pounds/year of PVC resin. Hurricane-exposed: Lake Charles was severely damaged by Hurricanes Laura (August 2020, Category 4 direct hit) and Delta (October 2020), disrupting PVC resin production for months and contributing to construction material shortages during the 2020-2021 housing boom.
