YKK Americas Macon Georgia Brass Operations

YKK Americas brass foundry: pure copper and zinc are smelted here to produce 99.98%-pure brass, processed through hot rolling. YKK does not mine copper or zinc — it sources raw metals and alloys them in-house. The brass is then used to make zipper elements (teeth), sliders, and stops at YKK's own specifications. This vertical integration from raw metal to finished zipper component is the operational core of YKK's cost and quality advantage.
