Young Poong Seokpo Zinc Smelter
Young Poong's Seokpo smelter — the world's sixth-largest zinc producer (~2.4% global zinc output in 2023); annual indium capacity ~100 tonnes. In November 2024, the Supreme Court of Korea ordered a 58-day operational suspension (February 26–April 24, 2026) due to cadmium wastewater discharge violations into the Nakdong River.
