DEF/AdBlue (Diesel Exhaust Fluid, 32.5% Urea Solution)

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF, sold as AdBlue in Europe) is a 32.5% aqueous urea solution used in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems to convert NOx emissions to nitrogen and water. Mandated in all modern diesel trucks, buses, and large off-road equipment under Euro VI / EPA regulations. Supply is produced from technical-grade urea (TGU). Market leaders: Yara, BASF, GreenChem. Tight urea supply (e.g., Chinese export bans) directly constrains DEF availability and can force diesel fleets to idle.
