Budesonide API
Inhaled corticosteroid; active ingredient in Symbicort, Pulmicort, Rhinocort. Manufactured principally by AstraZeneca (Södertälje, Sweden) for branded products and by generic API producers in India. Used in both pMDI (Symbicort aerosol) and DPI (Turbuhaler) formats. AstraZeneca conducting Phase III trials reformulating Symbicort with HFO-1234ze propellant.
