§10171 United States Army Reserve Command

Summary

Creates the United States Army Reserve Command as a separate Army command led by the Chief of Army Reserve. Unless the Secretary of Defense says otherwise, the Secretary of the Army sets the chain of command for that command. The Secretary of the Army must give the Army Reserve Command all Army Reserve forces in the continental United States, except those assigned to the special operations combatant command under section 167. Those Reserve forces must be assigned to the commander of the United States Atlantic Command unless the Secretary of Defense directs differently for forces used for duties listed in section 7013.
