On a Governor’s request after a major disaster or emergency, the Secretary of Defense may, without a member’s consent, order Army, Navy, Marine Corps, or Air Force reservists to active duty for up to 120 days; they aren’t counted in authorized strength, and the Secretary or a law may end their service.
