Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle E— Reserve Components › Part II— PERSONNEL GENERALLY › Chapter 1214— READY RESERVE MOBILIZATION INCOME INSURANCE › § 12533
The Secretary must end the insurance program. No one in the Ready Reserve can be enrolled after November 18, 1997. Most members’ coverage stops on November 18, 1997. If a member on that date was actually serving covered service or had an order to do so that qualifies for benefits, their coverage ends when that service period ends. After November 18, 1997 the Secretary cannot pay benefits except to people who on that date were serving under covered service, had orders to serve, or had already served and not yet been paid. The Secretary must close the Fund within 60 days after the last payment. Any money left goes to the Treasury as miscellaneous receipts.
