Summary

When a military protective order is issued against a service member, the unit commander must tell the appropriate civilian authorities within seven days and explain who the order covers. If the service member moves to a different unit, the old unit’s commander must notify the new unit’s commander about the order and the people involved by the time of the transfer. The new unit’s commander must then notify civilian authorities within seven days after getting that notice. Commanders must also tell civilian authorities about any changes to the order and when it ends.
