If a program member is dropped for failing training or for other reasons, then under rules the Secretary of Defense sets, the Secretary concerned can either make the member do one year of active duty for each year (or part of a year) they got financial help under this law or require them to follow the repayment rules in section 303a(e) or 373 of title 37. The Secretary of a military department can waive those requirements, but cannot cancel any other military duties required by other law. A person getting financial help under section 2107 of this title cannot get help under this section.
