Summary

The Secretary of Defense must pay for tuition and training, including full‑time degree programs, for people who work on buying goods and services for the Department of Defense. For civilian employees, that help follows Title 5, section 4107(b), which treats there as a shortage of qualified acquisition staff through September 30, 2010. The limit in section 2007(a) does not apply to service members. The Secretary may also repay some or all of a student loan under Title 5, section 5379 for a DoD employee appointed to an acquisition job.
