§20003 Members: Minimum Service Requirement as Applied to Space Force

Summary

When someone joins the Space Force, the parts of section 651 that deal with service in a reserve component — specifically the second sentence of subsection (a) and subsection (b) of that section — do not apply to them. If a Space Force member transfers to another military service before finishing the service required by subsection (a) of section 651, they will be treated under section 651 the same way as if they had first joined that other service.
