Selection boards for the Space Force must send a written report to the Secretary of the Air Force. Every board member must sign the report. The report must list the officers the board recommends for promotion and must state that the board carefully considered each officer’s record provided under section 615 and that a majority of members believe the recommended officers are the best qualified to meet Space Force needs based on the guidance under section 615(b). The report must also name any officer whom a majority thinks should be required to show cause under section 20503 to keep space force active status. If the board is authorized under section 20215(g), it must include officers it recommends to be placed higher on the promotion list and the order for them. The board may also recommend that an officer be removed from future promotion consideration under this chapter.
