Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle F— Alternative Military Personnel Systems › Part I— SPACE FORCE › Chapter 2009— RETENTION AND SEPARATION GENERALLY › § 20405
The Secretary of the Air Force can, only to reorganize the Space Force, remove a Space Force officer from service or force them off ongoing active duty. This power applies to officers on continued active duty who either have served six years or less as a commissioned officer, or have served more than six years but still owe their required minimum service. The “minimum service obligation” means the initial required active-duty time plus any extra time added during that initial period. The Secretary must write rules on how to use this power.
