DoD working‑capital funds may keep from sales of supplies, equipment, and other personal property (only if those items were not bought with stock funds under section 2208) just enough money to pay disposal costs. Any extra money from those sales goes to current DoD appropriations. With the President’s approval, the Secretary of Defense may promise to spend expected reimbursements to stock funds across fiscal years as needed to keep stock levels for the next fiscal year.
