Before a space major defense acquisition program gets Milestone B approval, the official who decides that milestone must check whether the program’s classification guidance is still correct. If the guidance is still correct, they must send a certification to the congressional defense committees. If it is not correct, they must begin updating the guidance. Definitions: Milestone B approval — a specific approval step defined elsewhere; major defense acquisition program — a large military buying program; space major defense acquisition program — a program to buy a satellite, ground system, or command-and-control system.
