Each fiscal year, the Secretary of Defense may use up to $55,000,000 from the Army’s operation and maintenance money that is available for NATO operations to fund the NATO Allied Special Operations Forces Command. The funds must be used to help NATO special operations forces work with partner countries, support joint missions, fund special-operations command, control, and communications needs, meet intelligence and information needs, and improve interoperability by setting common equipment rules, shared tactics and procedures, and running multinational training.
