Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle A— General Military Law › Part IV— SERVICE, SUPPLY, AND PROPERTY › Chapter 169— MILITARY CONSTRUCTION AND MILITARY FAMILY HOUSING › Subchapter IV— ALTERNATIVE AUTHORITY FOR ACQUISITION AND IMPROVEMENT OF MILITARY HOUSING › § 2872a
The Secretary in charge may provide utilities and services to military housing on a military base that was bought or built under the rules in this part. It covers 14 kinds of support, including electricity, steam, compressed air, water, sewage and garbage removal, natural gas, pest control, snow and ice removal, refrigeration, phones and data, firefighting and police protection, street sweeping, and tree trimming or removal. The Secretary must be paid back for any utilities or services given. Money paid as reimbursement goes back into the government fund or working capital account that paid the cost. If the original cost was paid with funds made available before October 1, 2014, the payment goes to that same account. If the cost was paid with funds made available on or after October 1, 2014, the payment goes to the account now used for providing those utilities or services. The money merged into that account and can be used under the same rules as the other funds in it.
