Agencies must give a briefing to the Senate and House Armed Services Committees about missile defense policy, operations, technology, and other related topics the committees request, about June 1 and December 1 each year. The briefings must come from the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy, the Director of the Missile Defense Agency, and the Joint Staff’s Director for Strategy, Plans, and Policy; each official can have a Senior Executive Service member who reports to them give the briefing instead. This requirement ends on January 1, 2028.
