The Administrator for Nuclear Security can let contractors at two specific sites create workforce training and education partnership programs so employees or future employees meet the requirements of section 6128. Contractors may pay for these programs with grants or other funds to cover curriculum, teacher pay, equipment, facility use, scholarships, and fellowships. A covered facility means Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico, or the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina. A prospective employee is someone who has applied, or who is likely to apply based on study or experience, for a contractor job to support plutonium pit production at a covered facility.
