Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle B— Army › Part III— TRAINING › Chapter 757— SCHOOLS AND CAMPS › § 7486
The Secretary of the Army may make an agreement with an accredited college or university to let that school’s students take the classroom (didactic) part of the physician assistant training run by the Army Medical Department at the Academy of Health Sciences in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The Army can also accept teaching or other academic help from the school in return. The agreement must have the school provide academic services in exchange. The Secretary and the school pick student qualifications and selection methods, and those must be like the Academy’s normal admission rules. Civilian students must follow the same attendance and discipline rules as others unless the Secretary says otherwise. The Secretary must also make sure the Army does not pay more than it would for similar services elsewhere and that civilian students do not reduce the number of military members in the program.
