Summary

The military judge must put the court’s judgment into the trial record for general and special courts-martial, following rules the President sets. The judgment includes the Statement of Trial Results under section 860 (article 60) and any changes or additions caused by post-trial action by the convening authority or by any judge ruling that affects a plea, finding, or sentence. The judgment must be given to the accused and to any victim, and it must be made public. For a summary court-martial, the findings and sentence, as changed by the convening authority under section 860b (article 60b), are the court’s judgment and must be recorded and shared under the President’s rules.
