Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle C— Navy and Marine Corps › Part IV— GENERAL ADMINISTRATION › Chapter 883— PRIZE › § 8876
Naval prize commissioners get no extra pay for prize cases beyond their regular Navy officer pay. Other prize commissioners can be paid for each case; the court decides the amount and adds it to the case costs. Each year on the appointment anniversary, non‑naval commissioners must report to the Attorney General what they received. They may keep up to $3,000 for the year; any excess goes to the Treasury.
