It makes it illegal for anyone covered by this law who has been placed in correctional custody by an authorized person to escape or leave where they are supposed to be. That includes escaping from physical restraints before an authorized person frees them, going past the limits of a non‑physical restraint before being released or relieved by an authorized person, or knowingly going beyond set limits when they were ordered to stay inside them before an authorized person releases them.
