Calls certain actions "misbehavior before the enemy" when a service member, while facing the enemy, does any of nine things. Those include running away; abandoning or surrendering a unit, place, or military property they must defend; by disobeying, neglecting, or intentionally acting wrong, putting those units or property at risk; throwing away arms or ammunition; acting cowardly; leaving duty to loot; causing false alarms; willfully failing to do their utmost to fight, capture, or destroy enemy forces or equipment they must engage; or failing to give all practical help to U.S. or allied forces in battle.
