The Secretary of the Air Force can give certain civilian special agents the same power that Defense Criminal Investigative Service agents may have to carry out and serve warrants, handle other legal papers, and make arrests without a warrant. This applies to special agents in the Air Force Office of Special Investigations who investigate Air Force programs. They must follow rules set by the Secretary of the Air Force and approved by the Secretary of Defense and the Attorney General, and any other applicable rules from those officials.
