The President names the Academy’s Superintendent and the Commandant of Cadets, and must choose them from officers in the Air Force or the Space Force. The President also appoints the permanent professors, and the Senate must approve those appointments. The President appoints the director of admissions with Senate approval, and that director does the duties the Superintendent gives, but the Secretary of the Air Force must approve those duties.
