Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle D— Air Force and Space Force › Part III— TRAINING › Chapter 953— UNITED STATES AIR FORCE ACADEMY › § 9450
The Secretary of the Air Force can set a charge for a new cadet’s first issue of uniforms and gear when the cadet joins the Academy. That charge is taken out of the cadet’s pay. If a cadet leaves before graduating and still owes money for that issue, the cadet must give back enough military clothing and gear to cover the debt. If what is returned is worth less than the debt, the leftover debt is canceled. Under rules the Secretary makes, cadets can be given uniforms and equipment when they ask for them.
