Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle D— Air Force and Space Force › Part IV— SERVICE, SUPPLY, AND PROCUREMENT › Chapter 967— UTILITIES AND SERVICES › § 9594
The Secretary of the Air Force can charge a fee when someone asks for information from the Air Force Military History Institute. No fee is allowed if the person is asking to do their job as a member of the armed forces or as a U.S. officer or employee, or if the information is released under section 552 of title 5. Any fee charged cannot be higher than the cost of giving the information. Money collected in a fiscal year must go back to the same budget that paid to provide the information that year. The “United States Department of the Air Force Military History Institute” means the main archive for Air Force and Space Force records the Secretary names. “Officer of the United States” and “employee of the United States” are defined in 5 U.S.C. 2104 and 2105.
