The Secretary of the Air Force must use money allowed under the two kinds of annual defense-authorized funds to pay for maintenance and repairs of buildings and land at Air Force and Space Force bases, no matter which kind of fund normally supports a base. The Secretary may not mix the two kinds of money for one repair project. The two kinds are: (c) RDTE — research, development, test, and evaluation funds authorized in the annual defense authorization for the Air Force or Space Force; and (d) O&M — operation and maintenance funds authorized in that same law for the Air Force or Space Force.
