Seven or more people who want to start a Federal credit union must each sign two copies of an organization certificate before an official who can administer oaths. The certificate must say the credit union’s name, where it will be located and operate, who the signers are and how many shares each takes, the starting share value, a detailed description of who can join, how long the corporation will exist (it may be perpetual), and a statement that they are forming it under this chapter.
