Title 12 › Chapter 14— FEDERAL CREDIT UNIONS › Subchapter I— GENERAL PROVISIONS › § 1754
Present the organization certificate to the Board. The Board will investigate three things: whether it follows this chapter, whether the founders are fit, and whether starting the proposed Federal credit union makes economic sense. If approved and the fee is paid, the certificate becomes the corporation’s charter and the credit union becomes a corporation with the chapter’s powers and duties.
