Title 12 › Chapter 16— FEDERAL DEPOSIT INSURANCE CORPORATION › § 1831v
Limits in sections 1844(c), 1844(g), and 1848a do not stop the Corporation from examining an affiliate of a depository institution when that examination is needed to check the institution’s condition for insurance purposes. The Corporation may make such exams under section 1820(b)(4) to show the relationship between the institution and the affiliate and how that relationship affects the institution. Definitions: "functionally regulated subsidiary" — the term as defined in section 1844(c)(5). "functionally regulated affiliate" — an affiliate that is not a depository institution holding company and fits any clause of section 1844(c)(5)(B).
