Title 12 › Chapter 16— FEDERAL DEPOSIT INSURANCE CORPORATION › § 1833c
The Comptroller General can audit any agency, company, group, or person that carries out work under this Act or under an Act changed by this Act. This audit power also covers people and groups that sell goods or services to those agencies or that get financial help from them. It does not apply to functions of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System or Federal Reserve banks that are listed in any paragraph of section 714(b) of title 31, nor to the Federal National Mortgage Association except as stated in section 1723a(j) of this title. The Comptroller General decides what each audit will look at and how it will be done. This audit power is in addition to any other audit powers the Comptroller General already has. The Comptroller General and authorized staff may inspect and copy any records in any form and examine any property that the agency or person has and that are relevant to the audit. The right to get this information can be enforced under section 716 of title 31, and the rules in section 716(e) of title 31 apply to information the Comptroller General obtains.
