Title 12 › Chapter 35— RIGHT TO FINANCIAL PRIVACY › § 3402
Government officials may not get or copy a customer's financial records or the information in them, unless sections 3403(c) or (d), 3413, or 3414 allow it. The records must be clearly described, and one of these must apply: the customer gave permission under section 3404; an administrative subpoena or summons that meets section 3405 was used; a search warrant that meets section 3406 was issued; a judicial subpoena that meets section 3407 was used; or a formal written request that meets section 3408 was made.
