Title 12 › Chapter 43— ACTIONS AGAINST PERSONS COMMITTING BANK FRAUD CRIMES › Subchapter I— DECLARATIONS PROVIDING NEW CLAIMS TO UNITED STATES › § 4207
Allows a person who made allegations (the "declarant") to ask the Attorney General for a contract to pursue the case if the Attorney General says the allegations haven’t been handled. The request must be filed within 30 days after that notice, and the Attorney General must reply within 30 days of getting it. The Attorney General will either give a contract under subchapter III or take the case themselves. If a contract is given, the declarant, after talking with the Attorney General, can choose the lawyer who will run the lawsuit, and the declarant and lawyer must follow the rules in subchapter III.
