Title 12 › Chapter 48— FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS REGULATORY IMPROVEMENT › § 4805
Require federal banking agencies to work together to cut paperwork and speed up bank reporting. They must build a system so insured depository institutions and their affiliates can file reports and statements (like reports of condition, savings association reports, and bank holding company consolidated and parent-only financial statements) electronically, and so the agencies can post them to the public online. Not later than 1 year after September 23, 1994, the agencies must report to Congress and suggest laws to make filing and using these reports more efficient. Under safety and soundness rules, the agencies must also adopt one standard form for the core information that federal law requires, simplify the instructions and add an index that helps filers and users, and review extra schedule items to remove any that are not needed for safety, soundness, or other public purposes.
