Sets the meanings of key words used in this part. Office and Director are the Office of Financial Research and its Director. Financial company has the same meaning as in subchapter II and also includes an insured depository institution and an insurance company. Data Center and Research and Analysis Center are the centers created under section 5344 of this title. Financial transaction data is the detailed legal description of a contract so you can see rights, duties, and value. Position data is information on assets or liabilities on a company’s balance sheet created or changed by transactions, including counterparties, the company’s valuation, and enough detail for an independent valuation. Financial contract is a binding agreement between 2 or more counterparties about future delivery of value. Financial instrument is a contract with public terms and assignable roles, for example common stock of a publicly traded company, government bonds, or exchange‑traded futures and options contracts.
