A corporation under this subchapter may, within the two years before its term ends, apply to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System to extend its life up to twenty years if shareholders owning two-thirds approve. The extension lasts unless two-thirds of shareholders, Congress, or charter forfeiture ends it.
