The Comptroller General must audit the Export-Import Bank’s loans and loan guarantees to check if the Bank is following its rules for approving loans, its lending policies, its steps to check applicants, and its document requirements. The first audit had to happen within 2 years after May 30, 2012, and audits must happen regularly after that, at least once every 4 years. By 4 years after December 4, 2015, and every 4 years after, the Comptroller General must also review how well the Bank’s controls stop, find, and investigate fraudulent loan applications. That review must include checking a sample of transactions and must be sent as a written report with any recommendations to the Senate Committees on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs and on Appropriations, and to the House Committees on Financial Services and on Appropriations.
